Music

Music

Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, and life to everything. Our students have the opportunity share their musical gifts with the community through liturgies, performances, and community outreach.

Band

Dominican currently offers two band classes: Concert Band and Piano/Guitar Class. Members of the band will perform at concerts at the school, various events around the community and will have the opportunity to play in the pep band at home athletic events. Recently the band has traveled and played at Disney Land and performed at home Milwaukee Bucks games. Students of all experience and skill levels are encouraged to join.

Choir

Dominican High School’s choral program offers an environment that allows for each student to grow and discover their musical gifts. We are proud to share those gifts with our school and greater community. In addition to four concerts a year, the choirs sing at Brewers games, Marquette basketball games, community events, and at non-profit organizations.

The choir does community outreach to centers such as Milwaukee Catholic Home singing with residents. The choir has sung at the Milwaukee Art Museum, The Cathedral of Saint John the Evangelist, and various other local venues. The choirs have taken performing trips to Chicago, Nashville and Disney Land. In Nashville our choir won the prestigious “Spirit of Nashville Award”, given to one ensemble that demonstrates the core values of their home state. The choir also participate every year in the WSMA Solo & Ensemble festival.

Currently Dominican has three choir offerings: Concert Choir, Chamber Choir, and Treble A Capella Choir. Concert Choir is designed as an introductory choir for beginning and intermediate students. Chamber Choir is Dominican’s advanced and auditioned course. Both courses meet every day and participate in our school liturgies.
